Calloway has been a part of the Extra family since 2008. He had a promising career with the entertainment news shows but the scandal broke.

Author and activist Sil Lai Abrams has been speaking out regarding assault allegations against him for years. After she spoke candidly in a profile with The Hollywood Reporter, more women reached out to her with similar stories regarding Calloway.

After speaking with the women, Abrams reached out to Warner Brothers demanding they investigate all sexual misconduct allegations against the Extra host. In February, Calloway was suspended from his duties at the show, as the company continued to condcut a more thorough investigation.

To date, Calloway maintains his innocence in all accusations against him.

“Mr. Calloway maintains that these unsubstantiated allegations are patently false. He vehemently denies that he ever assaulted anyone and looks forward to clearing his name,” his lawyer Lisa E. Davis said in a statement at the time of his suspension.

A.J. Calloway is done at Extra. Even though he has not been a crucial part of the entertainment news show for months, Warner Brothers has officially cut ties with him. Although their message said it was a mutual agreement, Calloway has not yet issued his own statement.

In terms of a criminal investigation against Calloway, only one has been made public so far. The Daily Beast is reporting that the West Orange Police Department in New Jersey confirmed a complaint was made against the disgraced host last December. However, because of the nature of the allegations, the police could not release any further details regarding the complaint.

When Billy Bush joins Extra in September, there is going to be a new face joining him. Warner Brothers has not announced who will replace Calloway. One thing is for sure though, Extra is getting a massive facelift this fall.
