He started karting at the age of 9, at the Cadet level. He moved to Junior Karting in 2009 and to Senior Karting in 2012.

Ben was very passionate about kayaking in 2012.

A 4-time Formula One World Champion, Sebastian Vettel, signed one of his winning trophies in 2012.

Ben was a member of the McLaren Young Driver Development program between 2010 and 2015.

He started flying at the age of 15 and estimated he made between 65 and 70 flights a year starting at the age of 18. In his estimation, he has flown 1 million air miles between the ages of 15 and 23.

His dad is his biggest fan.

Ben made his debut in single-seaters in 2013. This was made possible by the Racing Steps Foundation, an organization that financed his career endeavors.

His teammate driving for Fortec Motorsports at the 2015 British Racing Drivers’ Club Formula 4 Championship was Faisal Al Zubair.

Ben won Kart Masters GP Trophy in 2015 in lame X30 class and the Senior Rotax. This made him the 1st racing driver to win 2 Kart Masters Championships in a single day.

In January 2017, Ben discovered his name was among the top 3 list of “Notable people to come from Chesterfield” list based on the town’s Wikipedia article.

When he’s not racing, Ben is either mountain biking or running to stay in shape.

He became a member of the McLaren GT Driver Academy, in 2017.

During the lockdown due to coronavirus in 2020, Ben discovered grass cutting is an activity he’s best at after racing.
