Chiefs vs. Raiders line, odds and predictions: Our experts like Kansas City to beat Vegas

Publish date: 2024-05-28

The Kansas City Chiefs head to Sin City as a big road favorite in a critical division game against the Las Vegas Raiders. The Chiefs have won seven straight AFC West Division titles but hold a slim lead over the Broncos and Raiders going into Week 12. Kansas City has never lost in Vegas, holding a 3-0 record and outscoring the Raiders 107-58 in those games.

Kickoff is set for 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday at Allegiant Stadium. The game will be televised on CBS.

Since Antonio Pierce took over as interim head coach, the Raiders have stated their focus is to win by running the ball and playing solid defense. Josh Jacobs will look to bounce back from an inefficient game against the Dolphins that saw him rush for just 39 yards on 2.8 yards per carry. The Raiders’ inability to run the ball coincided with Aidan O’Connell’s struggles in throwing three interceptions against Miami. It’ll be a difficult matchup for O’Connell and the Raiders against a Chiefs defense that is top five in points per game (16.4) and yards per game (283.2).

NFL Week 12 storylines to watch: Upstart Broncos face Browns; Bills get big chance vs. Eagles

Patrick Mahomes threw for less than 200 yards in the Chiefs’ loss to the Eagles on Monday night. There were drops galore, headlined by what could have been a game-winning touchdown catch to Marquez Valdes-Scantling that bounced off his hands. While the Chiefs rank No. 14 in points scored per game (22.5), the Chiefs’ defense is leading the way, allowing only 16.4 points per game, which ranks third in the NFL. Kansas City has allowed more than 20 points just three times (and are 0-3 in those games) but has not given up more than 24 points.
