"Eurovision - Australia Decides" Acts Sheppard And Tania Doko Drop Their Songs Whilst Electric Field

This competition continues to heat up as the songs we have been waiting for, from contestants Sheppard and Tania Doko, gets released; all the while, fan-favourite, Electric Fields, have released their official single, following-up their lyric video for the song, “2000 And Whatever”. Sheppard’s song is titled “On My Way” and Tania Doko’s song is titled “Piece Of Me”. This means that all 10 songs are now available to listen to, days before the show.

Eurovision – Australia Decides is set to take place at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre on 9 February 2019 and will be hosted by Myf Warhurst and Joel Creasey. This is the first time Australia will decide on an act through a national selection show, and considering the high calibre of acts, we’re excited to see it how it all pans out. To determine the winner and who will represent Australia at Eurovision, a 50/50 jury and televote will occur.

This is going to be one unforgettable competition. Here are the final releases:

Sheppard – On My Way

This is one of the most anticipated acts in Eurovision – Australia Decides having previously gained international success with the single “Geronimo”, will this new song live up to the hype? It starts off ethereal and hypnotic with a solid male vocal from George Sheppard. The band really shows how far they have come from their 2014 hit, with the style of their sound magnified up with brilliant harmonies and vocal cords. The lyrics speak of a long-distance relationship and the ultimate love that the couple has for each other, especially when one of them are on their way to see the other – that heart-fuelled passion intensifies during that journey.

Tania Doko – Piece Of Me

Expected to be released in the next few days – possibly Friday, the day before Eurovision – Australia Decides, Tania Doko’s “Piece Of Me” brings a bit of 00’s pop-rock to the stage. Today saw her drop the lyric video, and it has an air of Hilary Duff, Lindsay Lohan, and Ashlee Simpson from back in the day, and we are loving it. It’s a catchy love song that will certainly capture hearts, but will being the last act to officially release her song hinder or help? Well, we’ll soon find out on Saturday.

Electric Fields – 2000 And Whatever

We’ve already covered this release back when only the lyric video was available. We stated that, “‘2000 And Whatever’ is fire from the start, it’s as if they mashed-up the first place and second place songs from the Eurovision Song Contest 2018, Netta’s ‘Toy’ and Eleni Foueira’s ‘Fuego’, fully stirred, then sprinkled in 90’s and 00’s club sounds and adding a dash of Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (Australian Aboriginal Languages) to create this incredible new track that is so unique and so incredible that’s ready to take the world by storm.” Now, it’s available to download and stream.

Eurovision – Australia Decides will take place on 9 February 2019 with a 50/50 jury and televote to determine their Eurovision representative. It will be hosted at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, Queensland by Myf Warhurst and Joe Creasey.
